This will be short. I am sorry for not updating recently and don’t really have a good reason.
My reality has been turned upside down. I have a hole in my heart that only God can fill for me. Thank God for Todd Hoffman and his country get away in Sandy, OR. He has been so gracious to feed me, hang by the fire with me and speak hard truth into my life. If you are hurting and need a place to be alone or hang with other dudes who understand your pain you need to let me know and I will get you in touch with Todd.
Men need to have a healthy outlet to be whole for their families. Our wives need us to be whole, to be strong and to love them with everything we have. If you have never seen this modeled then you will have a hell of a time trying to figure it out on your own. Most of us never do and we end up only giving our families a small piece of what they need. Paying the bills and taking out the trash will not get the job done for them. We also need to protect them from the lies Satan is whispering in their ears, he is one sly SOB and he will find a way in.
Thank you Lord for my family. Help me to love them the way you love me. Give me strength and courage to live fully for you so I can properly lead my family.
After saying the other day that I’m not commenting on blogs at the moment…this was too good not to click through and say ‘thanks’. So many men go through life not knowing how to find the support they need, and that’s assuming they recognise that they need support in the first place.
I’m joining that FB group…not that I can meet with you guys, or even because I’m particularly interested in hunting & fishing, but because I’m passionate about everyone knowing we’re in this crazy life together…and all have the same ability to draw strength, etc from God directly and through each other.

I am partnering with Crosstrackers because I believe so strongly in the needs they are beginning to meet. People are coming to know Jesus because of the interaction with these guys. Spread the word, we want to get local chapters all over the World.
Good word, Brian. Humble and true. We need more than Jesus direct. We need Him modeled in godly men who love us.
Growing up with a dad who only paid the bills (he didn’t take out the trash either because he traveled 90% of the year), I thank you for this post. Not being a Christian, he was ill-equipped. But I think that men who are Christians are even more susceptible to the lies and the pain and lacking what their families need from them.
These men need a place where they can be vulnerable and grow and I am thankful you have Todd for that.
