I am always intrigued by polls regarding politically charged topics. The debate over environmental issues is always raging these days in our country. It always seems to be a power struggle between businesses and environmental rangers. I am first and foremost an entrepreneur and capitalist. With that being said, I think we should do our very best to maintain a high quality of life for us and our descendants.
Common sense and having others best interest in mind should always be prioritized as highly as Profit Goals in my opinion. Here is an article from Twighlight Earth detailing the results of a recent poll on peoples opinion of Congress and “Clean Energy”. Check it out. (Oh and by the way, I am not convinced by any means that “Global Warming” or “Global Climate Change” are caused by mankind. I am not saying that they absolutely are not a result of some of our actions but I have not been convinced that they are caused by us. You can feel free to try and convince me one way or another but right now my belief leans toward the cause being “natural cycles” that are completely out of our control.)
I also got contacted this weekend by Meredith with the LongBeach Green Business Association in Long Beach, CA. She is helping people network with other like minded business owners and managers. She also runs Green Biz Plan to help people find “green business ideas” and help them write a business plan and find all the resources to successfully launch a new company. I love this idea, use something that is very popular like the “green movement” and show people ways to capitalize on doing a good thing. This to me is the essence of balance between capitalism and environmentalism that can keep America great among leading World Nations. Check out their website especially if you are in Southern Cal.
