Welcome faithful readers,
I would like to invite you along for the next few turns in my personal journey.  It may be boring or it could get a little crazy because these are crazy times we are living in.

Whether you believe in God or not, I hope you will desire to know Him or know Him in a more intimate way after seeing what He is doing in my life.  If my story intrigues you, please check back often for updates.

For a little back story on who I am read here because I am going to jump right into my present day situation.

Last year was by far the biggest growth year of my life.  I learned more about myself, my wife and what it means to be refined by fire.  God was with me all along, even during the months when I pushed him away.

  • He taught me about true forgiveness
  • He showed me some deep insecurities that needed to be removed
  • He gave me a glimpse of the depth of His love
  • He blessed me with a new marriage
  • He is teaching me the beauty of walking with Him in faith
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 was my last day working with “The Company”.

Check back tomorrow to find out what happened…

Just finished the 2nd day with my boys while Jenni is on a mini girls retreat in San Francisco.  I love spending one on one time with the boys…But man it’s tiring!

I am gaining a whole new respect for what Jenni does every day.  Thank You for keeping the house up, planning meals and still having energy for me!  Of course all of that is in addition to all you do with our boys every day.  I now understand why some days you just need to get out of the house.

I am so grateful to the amazing people that have poured into our lives this year.  We had the pleasure of hosting David and Diane Goodwin for 2 months.  They have blessed us spiritually, emotionally, financially and humorilly (not a word but it describes well) and I am sure other ways yet to be discovered.  Miss you guys but appreciating you from afar.

There are several other very specific people I want to brag on but I think I will focus on one person/couple each time I post and make it special for them.  At the rate I post it will be this time next year before I am done.

Jenni is currently with Laura Lasky and two other ladies.  From the sounds of it, they are having way too much fun.  Laura is so amazing how she has taken Jenni on as her some she is  pouring into.  She makes such a huge impact on Jenni’s life and I appreciate it what she is doing soooo much!

Me and the boys…

She Said Yes!!!

Mr. Non Romanticist is my name…No Seriously…

I never actually proposed before we got married the first time.  I have been reminded for the last nine years by someone to be left unnamed.  So I decided this would be a perfect time to make up for it and step up my romance game.  Last night was our 10th anniversary from our first date and it was our small group night.  Perfect time to do a real proposal and get video proof.  Here it is for those of you who haven’t seen it yet on Jenni’s blog.

I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with a woman who loves God and who is constantly striving to be a better wife, mom and friend. Love you honey

It is so beautiful even with this “unbearable heat”!  Thank the Lord for my airconditioner right now.  (I am very sorry if you don’t have one and you live where it’s hot.)

Last week I started my education to be re-certified as a mortgage loan officer and I finished that on Tuesday evening.  Now I need to go take the test probably sometime next week.  I hope I can pass it, I didn’t do so well on some of the practice quizzes.  At this point, I don’t even know if it’s a good idea to try and do mortgages again.  If you know anyone ready to buy a house or needing a refinance, I should be in business again with in a week or two.

There is something about not working full time.  It’s great to have time with Jenni and playing with the boys but we can’t do much because we don’t have any money to spend.  That is the quandary of life; plenty of time but no money or plenty of money with no time.

Still looking at lots of work options so let me know of anything you hear about.  I am not qualified for too much but I learn quick and work hard.

Heavy Heart

This will be short.  I am sorry for not updating recently and don’t really have a good reason.

My reality has been turned upside down.  I have a hole in my heart that only God can fill for me.  Thank God for Todd Hoffman and his country get away in Sandy, OR.  He has been so gracious to feed me, hang by the fire with me and speak hard truth into my life.  If you are hurting and need a place to be alone or hang with other dudes who understand your pain you need to let me know and I will get you in touch with Todd.

Men need to have a healthy outlet to be whole for their families.  Our wives need us to be whole, to be strong and to love them with everything we have.  If you have never seen this modeled then you will have a hell of a time trying to figure it out on your own.  Most of us never do and we end up only giving our families a small piece of what they need.  Paying the bills and taking out the trash will not get the job done for them.  We also need to protect them from the lies Satan is whispering in their ears, he is one sly SOB and he will find a way in.

Thank you Lord for my family.  Help me to love them the way you love me.  Give me strength and courage to live fully for you so I can properly lead my family.

Time has really gotten the better of me and I have failed at keep my blog up to date.

Yesterday I received the modem for installing Clear the new wireless internet company.  It is pretty cool, it was up and running as fast as I could unwrap the cords and plug the modem into a power outlet.  It seems to be pretty fast, I haven’t run a speed test on it yet but will do that later.  We decided to get rid of Verizon Fios for TV, Internet and Telephone to save money.  Clear is $40 something a month and we can get a phone line from Skype for $3.00/month.  Television is just going to be non existent for the next 6 months to a year.

Tonight I begin to really work on prepping my talk for next Sunday’s church service.  Pastor Matt from Church@bethany asked me to fill in the week he is going to the Midwest for his high school reunion.  I have never preached to adults for a church service in my life so this is a little nerve wracking.  Maybe I should start preparing what I am going to speak on.  Definitely be praying for me on this one.

We got some pictures taken today by a friend, Sara Gray, who was in the high school program when Jenni and me were volunteer leaders at Sunset Presbyterian.  She is now graduated from college and building her photography career.  Here are a couple family shots she posted on Face Book.  She did a great job and was super quick which is crucial with toddlers.

New Addition

I am so proud to be a daddy again.  There is nothing like bringing new life into the World.  Hopefully you can experience this one day if you haven’t already.  Paxton Joel Clayville was born November 6, 2008 at 1:24pm.  He was 7lbs, 10oz and his head is 14 inches around.  dsc_9240There is something pretty special about having an appointment and walking into the hospital and with in two hours holding your new baby.  Of course seeing Jenni’s internal organs exposed as they were stitching her up was a little on the freaky side.  Oh well, they got it all back in the right places and everything is working.

Compared to last time though (40 hours of labor and then a C-section), scheduled C-section is the way to go.  The amazing thing is that Jenni went the last 24 hours with no heavy pain meds, just the Ibuprofen and our natural elixers from Univera.

He are some more pictures and I will hopefully get some real sleep tonight.
