Just finished the 2nd day with my boys while Jenni is on a mini girls retreat in San Francisco. I love spending one on one time with the boys…But man it’s tiring!
I am gaining a whole new respect for what Jenni does every day. Thank You for keeping the house up, planning meals and still having energy for me! Of course all of that is in addition to all you do with our boys every day. I now understand why some days you just need to get out of the house.
I am so grateful to the amazing people that have poured into our lives this year. We had the pleasure of hosting David and Diane Goodwin for 2 months. They have blessed us spiritually, emotionally, financially and humorilly (not a word but it describes well) and I am sure other ways yet to be discovered. Miss you guys but appreciating you from afar.
There are several other very specific people I want to brag on but I think I will focus on one person/couple each time I post and make it special for them. At the rate I post it will be this time next year before I am done.
Jenni is currently with Laura Lasky and two other ladies. From the sounds of it, they are having way too much fun. Laura is so amazing how she has taken Jenni on as her some she is pouring into. She makes such a huge impact on Jenni’s life and I appreciate it what she is doing soooo much!
Me and the boys…
My wife was a stay-at-home mom for the first several years of our daughters life, running a day care. Then she got a job on the “outside” – right about the time our daughter had a fever that didn’t break for a week.
Fortunately I could work from home – but it was an eye-opener for both of us. Now I understood why she always wanted to go out and do things on the weekend, and she understood why I always wanted to stay home on the weekends.
It’s good to spend some time doing what your spouse does, IMO – it gives you better empathy for them.
Plus the one-on-one time you’re getting to spend with your boys is always a bonus, and something they will remember when they become adults 🙂
Tim
